Thinking about the great influence of the foreign, mainly European immigrants that they configured the society and architecture from this port, what allows to have an approach to the multi culture and diversity that configured formerly to the "Jewel of the Pacific"

The sample is composed of 12 images of great format, accompanied of explanatory texts and fragments of musical contemporaries of different origins; French, German, English, Italian, like the life in the same port.

This exhibition was financed with occasion of the celebration of the “Day of the European Union” (May 9) thanks to the union of efforts of:
Alianza Francesa de Valparaíso / Viña del Mar;
Goethe-Zentrum Viña del Mar, asociado al Goethe Institut;
Instituto Chileno Británico de Cultura;
Società Dante Alighieri-Comitato di Valparaíso

“El Mercurio de Valparaíso” takes place 180 years of life, it is the Chilean newspaper and the more older Hispanic speech than is published. The Museum, wants to remember with a Temporary Exhibition, some important events happened in the city, shown through its holders. On the other hand, to give to know to the community the patrimony that this Institution preserves.

Objects in Exhibition *(Shots Alfredo Cárdenas)

In the central Hall of the Museum the setting is allowed in value of the exotic collections that preserves the museum of Natural History and that the public remembers with special interest.
In 160 m2, in cabinets and in a walled area this collection is distributed supported with a script of two readings: one as the piece arrived at the museum, that is to say their history; and the other one, the specialist's scientific look.
